SEE Electrical SEE ELECTRICAL V8R4 SP6

New features

Import of PLC configuration from Siemens TIA Portal

advanced

It is now possible to import a PLC configuration from the Siemens TIA Portal. It can be done through a new command File > Import > PLC Assignment List, which accepts previously exported *.aml file. Once the configuration is imported, it can be assigned to a PLC Main or Signal symbols using the PLCImportAssign command.

3D Report Pages import

standard

On the ribbon, in the 3D Output menu, it is now possible to import full report pages generated from SEE Electrical 3D Panel. One or more pages in *.spp2d format can be selected. Views, tables, dimensions, title blocks, etc. are retrieved, along with the original dimensions of the report page.

Terminals import from Weidmueller Configurator (WMC)

standard

It is now possible to import a terminal strip configuration from the Weidmuller Configurator software through File > Import… > Terminals > Weidmueller WMC command. If it is a new terminal strip, terminals, separators and end stops will be retrieved as reserve terminals in the Pick List and in Component without graphics editor. If it is an existing terminal strip, terminals will be rearranged according to the changes made in the configurator.

Terminals import from WAGO Smart Designer

standard

It is now possible to import a terminal block configuration from the WAGO Smart Designer software through File > Import… > Terminals > WAGO Smart Designer command. If it is a new terminal strip, terminals, separators and end stops will be retrieved as reserve terminals in the Pick List and in the Component without graphics editor. If it is an existing terminal strip, terminals will be rearranged according to the changes made in the configurator.

Redesign of the Equipment Database filter

basic

Existing Equipment Database filtering based on symbol’s attributes has been substantially enhanced. On top of prefiltering database when selecting a part number, it is possible now to fully customize or even redefine applied filter. This can be achieved through new user interface available after clicking on Edit Filter button located on the bottom left of the middle section of the dialog. This button is displayed only when any filter is already defined and allows to create individual or group criteria. Attribute selection in the filter is directly connected to columns (attributes) displayed in Equipment Database dialog.

On top of that, it is possible now to use quick filtering based on available values – funnel icon located in each column header allows to quickly select one of available data to filter displayed content. Only one filter per column can be assigned this way.

Lastly, in the contextual menu displayed after right-clicking on any column header, it is possible to enable Auto Filter which unveils additional, editable row below all headers. In those text fields, it is possible to type any value that will be used as a filter for given column. Filters can be daisy-chained in order to find parts that exactly match given criteria.

All of the new Equipment Database filtering options are also available when database is open in edition mode.

Improvements

Precision level for imperial dimensions

basic

Inch dimensions have been enhanced, so it is possible to select the desired precision level for fractional values (1/8, 1/16, 1/32… up to 1/512th of an inch). This choice can be made in the global dimension settings or directly on the schematic by selecting one or more dimensions and changing Precision level attribute.

Necessity to remove all drawings prior to diagram generation from NEM file

basic

Generating diagrams from NEM file (Caneco BT, SE EPD Ecodial, Ecoreal P) no longer requires to remove all drawings within selected drawing type. Instead, new dialog which allows to define if drawings shall be removed is displayed. If user decides not to remove drawings, duplicated sheets will be created which allows to import both multi and single line diagrams in the same drawing type or in combination with panel selection, regenerate just part of the design.

Recovery of project attributes for NEM file

basic

When generating diagrams from NEM file, project attributes can now be retrieved. Thanks to that, we can recover customer information (address, phone number, mail, etc.), document number, date creation and comments defined during previous stage of the design. In case, project attributes are already defined, they will be overwritten with values coming from NEM file.

Bug fixed

Rescaling symbols through a command available in folder’s contextual menu no longer rescales all symbols within symbol library.
Inserting a device via the Complete command into a 2D cabinet drawing no longer causes a crash.
Terminal strip export to WAGO Smart Script no longer generates an empty file if there are no terminals.
Creating a file in Other Documents no longer causes a crash.
The option to export the contents of Other Documents to a PDF has been removed.
While generating drawings from NEM file a second time, subpanels are no longer assigned incorrectly.
3D views with a transparent background are imported correctly now.
Numbering of wires and signals is correctly reset when cells are used in the numbering format.
It is again possible to save a file in .XLSX and .XLSM using the DBListsToExcel command without getting an error.
Electrical transparency of the terminals is properly considered for the propagation of the signal numbers.
Wire numbering no longer starts over when done in several steps.
Function and Location attributes are no longer removed when the direction of Signal Reference symbols is changed.
Page template selection available in Circuit Diagrams Properties window no longer displays templates for 3D Panel drawings.
Page numbers are correctly retrieved after multiple DWG/DXF/DXB imports.
All attributes available while defining custom signal numbering using Set Signal Number command are working properly now.
Changing the drawing background to black no longer causes the symbol preview to disappear.
New setting Combine components with same name available in Auto Generation module allows to decide if components with same name should be merged with already existing components or not.
The error that prevented any wire numbering while displaying a “Bad format” message has been fixed.
Having a quotation mark in a symbol name no longer causes an error during comparing symbol libraries.
